Thank you for visiting my website. It takes courage to make the first steps towards uncovering and uprooting the emotional obstacles in your life. I want to welcome you to a safe and supportive space where that work can happen. My role in the therapeutic process is to guide, challenge, and cheer you on as you confront the challenges in your life. Sometimes I am the nagging parent, but only occasionally.
In the beginning of the therapeutic process, I consult with clients to determine the best treatment approach. I have training in many modalities including insight-oriented therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and Sandtray therapy. I find that a combination of these types of therapy is most effective. By using complementary therapeutic techniques, I help clients identify unhealthy cognitive or behavioral patterns in their life. The next step is determining how to manage those patterns, how can we alter them or extinguish them altogether.
I am also trained as an ADHD/ Executive Skills coach and work with undergraduate and graduate students to meet academic challenges. Coaching is a collaborative process designed to help the student identify desired goals and determine how they can best meet those goals.
